The Big Give Christmas Challenge & Giving Tuesday
| It’s coming up to that time of year again as we approach Christmas and two major fundraisers take place. Here they are and watch for more charities coming on to the list in the next few days. Why not make a donation on behalf of an animal lover for their Christmas present? Big Give Christmas Challenge 2025 Give between 12 noon, 2 December and 12 noon, 9 December 2025 and donations can have double the impact. One donation – twice the impact! Animal Charities are listed here Environmental Charities are listed here Giving Tuesday – 2 December 2025 #GivingTuesday Do something for your favourite animal charity! This could be anything from finding out how you can volunteer (if you don't already), spreading the word about their donation, asking people to make a donation on your behalf for your Christmas/birthday present, adopting an animal, or just straight donating. Many charities have match funders going on, which means that if you donate, your donation could be matched - details will be on the charities' own websites. Please let us not forget those charities fighting to help animals in war zones such as Ukraine and Gaza. A special shout-out for them. Safe Haven for Donkeys, Kabul Small Animal Rescue, Warriors for Wildlife, and others could really use donations now to help them in very dangerous times and places. Network for Animals is another. Even if you cannot donate, you can share their appeals, visit their websites, spread the word and see what else you can do to help them e.g. volunteer. Many employers will match your donations, so do ask them. Examples of charities running Giving Tuesday or Big Give Christmas Challenge are... PETA - Every £1 you give to PETA’s Global Compassion Fund (GCF) by 2 December becomes £2 to help animals, up to their £25,000 goal. Plus, your donation will be matched, so you can have double the impact for animals! (They are looking for volunteers for 2026, by the way.) Snow Leopard Trust - All donations up to $78,000 will be matched by the Trust's conservation partners now through Dec. 2. Polar Bears International - every Giving Tuesday gift will be doubled up to $35,000 thanks to a generous match. Find out more here Wildlife Conservation Society have a 3x $50,000 match Reteti Elephant Foundation (helps raise orphaned and abandoned baby elephants with the hope they will be returned to the wild in Northern Kenya) - this year, Giving Tuesday is all about milk, and letting it flow! Visit the Foundation's website here Wildlands Network connecting and restoring the wild Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park - all gifts made to the Conservancy for Giving Tuesday will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000.
The Endangered Species Coalition is raising a $200,000 Defense Fund to stand up against the disastrous rollbacks to the Endangered Species Act being pushed in Congress. These changes will put gray wolves, grizzlies, and many other vulnerable species at risk of extinction. One of their partners has offered to match any new monthly donors now through #GivingTuesday! If you can't commit to monthly donations, do a one off!
