Charity Christmas Cards to help horses and donkeys

It's still early for Christmas cards and many charities are feeling the impact of COVID-19 so please either find another way to help and/or come back to this page, as I will keep updating it.

It's also worth taking a look at their gift and shop sections as many have wonderful virtual gifts giving working animals the help they need, whether it's veterinary treatment or water troughs, and educating young people about horse and donkey welfare.  And many charities run adoption schemes so that you can adopt a donkey or adopt a horse (or sponsor them, depending on the term used by the charity) and give adoption gifts.

Help SPANA help working animals with your Christmas cards this year
SPANA work to improve the lives and welfare of working animals all over the world, be they donkeys, horses, mules, camels and even elephants.   They have a range of Christmas cards, plus a whole host of other gifts.  Visit SPANA here.

How about supportning the gentle giants and miniatures of Lincolnshire with your gift?

The Northcote Heavy Horse Centre has been caring for horses of all sizes from miniature ponies and Shetlands to Shires and Clydesdales for over 25 years.  It is both a visitors centre and an equestrian sanctuary providing a forever home to horses & animals in need.  You can find out more about some of their horses here

NEWS:  The centre's website says it is in danger of closing so if you are able to make a donation for a horse lover as a gift, please do through their GoFundMe page.   They also have an Amazon wish list.
