Hedgehogs are in trouble and need all our help. There are a number of ways you can help from home... Don't forget Hedgehog Awareness Week from 3rd to 9th May 2026! Find out all about it here. Will you take the Hedgehog Pledge and do one action each day of the week?

The British Hedgehog Preservation Society has everything you need to know about hedgehogs, including feeding them, first aid, an FAQ section, posters, leaflets and things you can do to help hedgehogs!

Join up Hedgehog Street - why not become a Hedgehog Champion? There are over 130,000 of them already! Over 130,000 Hedgehog Champions are registered, forming a vibrant and enthusiastic community and helping to make a real difference for hedgehogs all over the country. The website's even got ways you can help even if you don't have a garden, linking your garden to create Hedgehog Highways, talking to your neighbours - there's even a toolkit to help you get started!

Berkshire

Hedgehog Bottom, a mine of informnation with a list of hedgehog rescues, too! They've also got information on How to Rescue, (caught in netting, stuck in drain, sunbathing/asleep in the open, babies, out in winter, funny coloured hogs). Visit their site here.

Tiggywinkles The Wildlife Hospital Trust, is a specialist hospital in Buckinghamshire. Using every available veterinary welfare skill, they rescue and rehabilitate all species of British wildlife

Cornwall

Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue are looking to build a bespoke hedgehog hospital or rather ‘hogspital’! Over 1,300 hedgehogs are admitted a year, so they need to expand to make sure that they never have to turn a hedgehog away. You can donate on their website.
