  1. Wednesday 16 November 2022 is  Orange for Orangutans and a chance for us all to #GoOrange!

    #GoOrange for Orangutan Day!

The day is organised by the Orangutan Foundation. Their mission is to save orangutans "by protecting their tropical forest habitat, working with local communities and promoting research and education."

The event is a chance to raise awareness of the plight of orangutans and if you can to raise some funds for the Orangutan Foundation.

You could do a bake sale, dress in orange, go on social media and spread the word (writing in orange!) or see what you can do to incorporate orange into your day!

  2. Add orange to your life on Wednesday 16th November

Next week is Orangutan Caring Week.  It runs from 13th to 19th November in 2022.

The aim is to raise awareness of the challenges orangutans and their rainforest home are facing.   And to help people take part, there is one very easy activity we can all do on #Orange for Orangutan Day ©.  And that is to add orange to your life on the 16th November!

On the 16th November, please #GoOrange

The idea is that we all make a big ORANGE SPLASH on the day by finding anything orange to wear to raise awareness and funds for the critically endangered orangutan.

The Orangutan Foundation has an INFORMATION PACK you can download and a POSTER you can put up.

You could also do a cake sale, have an orangutan themed tea party, dress in orange, eat baked beans – and go on social media with the hashtags

    #GoOrange.

This is a great chance to have a bit of fun and raise awareness of the orangutan.

Meantime, if you think you would like to help Cats Protection help cats, please visit their website.

    Ways to help cats

You could buy something from their online shop,  donate or volunteer – there are plenty of different sorts of volunteer roles such as helping out in a Cats Protection charity shop, helping in a branch (there are 200 branches in the country so they are very widespread), or volunteering in one of their 34 centres.

Volunteering is a great way to meet like-minded people, to do something meaningful with your time and to do something to help cats!  You could also look at fostering a cat while the cat is looking for their forever home.  And you could of course look at adopting a cat, too, and giving a cat a much needed home.

There's lots we can all do to help cats.  For example...

    Get crafting for cats!

One thing you can do if you love cats and crafts is to join in the Craftalong on 26 November 2022.   Cats Protection have teamed up with The Makerss to bring you a new needle felting project: cat angel tree toppers!

    Find out more here

Find out how to create your own needle felted cat angel for your Christmas tree!  The cost is £20 and half of this goes towards a Cats Protection centre or branch of your choice!  Pounce on more information here
