Free the Bears may have their first rescue in 2023!

The amazing charity Free the Bears are just reporting on their first bear rescue in 2023! They rescue bears from bear bile farms and being kept as pets and look after them in their bear sanctuaries in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
When they arrived, the Free the Bears team found two orphaned moon bear cubs, a brother & sister. They were in tiny cages and they were stressed and terrified. The team moved them into their larger transport crate, with food and water, and started the long journey to the #LuangPrabangWildlifeSanctuary. The cubs are settling in well and they've had their first exploration of the Cub Nursery play area. Special thanks to our Laos Government partners from the Vientiane Department of Forest Inspection for facilitating yet another rescue.
Free the Bears gave thanks to the UK's Biodiversity Challenge Funds (formerly the Illegal Wildlife Trade Challenge Fund) for the grant to support our work tackling the illegal wildlife trade. British Ambassador John Pearson attended the official cub handover!
