Free the Bears has helped rescued over 950 bears from bear bile farms. They are sun bears, moon bears and sloth bears, and you may have seen them recently on television when Giles Clark went to help them in Bears About the House.
This November, Free the Bears are asking us all to help raise funds for them and also to spread the word about what they do. Like many charities, they have lost their traditional ways of raising funds and awareness because of COVID-19. But the bears in their care - and those sitll to be rescued in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia - still need to be fed, watered and given the best veterinary care possible, as well as being looked after with enrichment activities. These are all bear necessities!
So they are inviting us all to take part in a challenge. You can choose what to do, but the idea is that we all create an online fundraiser.
You can do whatever you want sometime in November - walk, run, skip, hop or jump - but please do something to help!
Here's Dr Mary Hutton (a couple of minutes into the video), the founder of Free the Bears, to tell you more:
