The 25 to 27 January 2020 sees the annual Big Garden Birdwatch. It’s the world’s largest wildlife survey and it’s run by the RSPB.
It helps the RSPB work out which species are doing well and which need help. This enables the RSPB to ask the public to help create conditions in which those species that are struggling can get a helping hand, as it were, so that they can grow in number again.
Last year, about half a million people took part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch survey and it’s ever so easy. You can do it from home by observing the birds and wildlife in your garden or head off to your local park and see what birds and wildlife you can see there.
All you need to give is one hour of your time over the weekend of 25 to 27 January 2020. Watch the birds and wildlife. Record what you see, and then let the RSPB know your findings.
There’s lots of information there, including how to attract birds from your garden – and there’s also a bird identifier to help you work out which bird is which.
