Love and Protection Auction for wildlife charities with pencil drawings of wildlife

Posted on

If you love wildlife art, you should take a look at Gary Hodges Wildlife Art Charity Auction, Love and Protection.

There is an online auction site you can visit to see the amazing 50 embellished prints Gary Hodges drew for the exhibition which takes place from 10-22 July 2018.

There are a wide range of animals featured in this auction – elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, brown bears cubs, penguins, tree frog, fennec fox, servals, dolphins, wolves, whales, snow leopards, snow bears, tigers, crocodiles, iguanas, lemurs, hippos, greater kudu, sabo, jaguars and geckos

Six conservation and wildlife art charities are benefiting from the auction:

  • Animals Asia
  • Born Free
  • David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
  • David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation
  • EIA
  • Nature in Art, the museum where the exhibition is being held

Gary Hodges is a no ordinary pencil artist. Through his art, nearly £1 million pounds has been raised to protect the animals he cares so passionately about.  His hopes are that this auction will raise £50,000 for the charities above.

Unique embellished prints bridge the gap between an original drawing and his limited edition prints – he adds 1,000s of carefully placed pencil strokes on top of the printed image and so creates a dynamic piece of art.   Since 2016, over 60 pieces have sold at charity auctions.

21st July 2018 – Private View with Live Auction

A special private view with an exciting live auction will be held on 21st at the world renowned Nature in Art in Gloucestershire.  This museum is dedicated to art inspired by nature.  A number of specially embellished prints will auctioned by BBC TVs award-winning auctioneer James Lewis.   Find out more here.

The other prints will continue to be auctioned until 24 July and the closing times for each piece are listed against each lot number so if you see one you want to bid on, check its closing date carefully.

(If you’re going to bid online for any of the artworks, you can register for free.  If you don’t have a paypal account, leave “PayPal email” blank.  Please note that bids are legally binding and must be paid for if you’re the highest bidder, and you can delete your account at any stage.)

Visit the website for the auction here and remember “every single bid protects wildlife”.

There’s also two books you can buy – one is a limited edition for £40, and the other is an open edition for £20 – both coincide with Gary's 2018 Charity Exhibition & Auction 'Love & Protection'

A final thought...

Gary Hodges has put his incredible skill as a pencil artist to work, helping wildlife.

So this is an opportunity for us all to ask ourselves what sort of skills or talents we all have that we can put to use to help wildlife and the animals we care about.  Everyone can do something!
