Animals such as Amani are desperate for water.  Amani is a camel who was found wondering the barren landscape in search of water, dehudrated and emaciated.

Amani's ribs were protruding and his hump was deflated - a sure sign of dehydration.

Can you help provide water for working animals like Amani? 

International charity SPANA are looking to build a solar-powered borehole for these animals to drink from.  The bore-hole will end their need to search for water.

£80 will help towards drilling the 110m borehole needed to access enough water for over 7,000 working animals

£50 could pay towards a 5,000 litre tank to store the water

£20 could help provide a water trough and kiosk which would enable animals to access water every day.

Three amazing women calling themselves Status Row are preparing to row across the Atlantic in December.   They’re going from the Canaries to Antigua, doing 50 miles a day.

They are trying to become the fastest and second ever female trio to row the Atlantic.  Preparations are under way on physical and mental levels, and on working as a team and being honest with each other.  If that isn’t enough, they are doing first aid and rowing training.  And raising £100,000 to complete the challenge.  Oh yes, they had to buy a boat, as well – a lot of the money they need to raise will be recouped when they sell the boat.

So why are Caroline Wilson, Jess Rego and Susan Donaldson doing this epic adventure?

They want to raise awareness of plastic pollution.  And they hope to bridge the gap between awareness and action by inspiring every day changes that will really add up.

They met at a climbing club and wanted to do something better.   The row is enabling them to create a global platform to spread a message and make a difference.

They’ll be setting off in December and all proceeds from the race are going to the Marine Conservation Society.  Status Row are looking for individual and corporate sponsors to donate - find out more here. 

Amur Leopard and Tiger Alliance (ALTA) and 21^st Century Tiger have joined forces!

The WildCats Conservation Alliance (their new name) will support wild tiger and Amur leopard conservation, and to continue as a partnership between ZSL and Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation in Regent’s Park, London.

The wish was to streamline administration, resources and roles under one roof, or initiative.  The WildCats Conservation Alliance hopes it can therefore work more effectively, raising awareness and funds for conservation projects for all subspecies of tigers and the Amur Leopards.

WildCats Conservation Alliance supports conservation projects dedicated to making a long term difference to wild tigers and Amur leopards.  The projects it funds are run by conservation NGOs which are internationally respected, such as FFI, WCS, the Phoenix Fund, IFAW, EIA and Freeland.   Projects are monitored and reviewed to ensure both best practice and effective outcomes.

The themes of the projects have included anti-poaching, education and community outreach, as well as wildlife-trade and research in China, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Russia.
