Beachwatch Beach Clean - clean beaches and help wildlife

It's the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean

Go straight to the Marine Conservation Society's website to find out more and get involved

This weekend - 18th - 21st September 2015 - is the Great British Beach Clean, so a chance for lots of people to volunteer and clean up British beaches.

The event is run by the Marine Conservation Society.   Events will be taking place all over the country, so you can join like-minded people who want to make a difference and help clean up our beaches, or you can create your own event.

In 2014's event, 5,349 volunteers cleaned and surveyed 301 beaches.  They collected an incredible 2,457 bits of litter per kilometre - you can see what they collected here

Can't make this weekend?

Never mind - 4 ways you can help our beaches and keep them clean for animals and people:

  1. Help spread the word and raise awareness of the danger of litter to wildlife and our seas
  2. There are beach cleans going on all throughout the year - join one of those instead!
  3. Join the Marine Conservation Society and give it your support
  4. Expore the Marine Conservation Society's website, find out more about its work and the challenges facing our seas and sea life, and discover ways in which you can help.
